We did a 3 day kayak trip with North Island Kayak this past September and it was easily the highlight of our trip! We are so grateful to have seen orcas, humpbacks, dolphins, sea lions and more! Our guide, Becky, was super knowledgeable about the area and the animals and made us feel super safe kayaking in the ocean. She really put the trip over the top. We had a wonderful experience. From our lovely and experienced guide Becky, through all the helping hands and the amazing food that was cooked, everyone in the North Island Kayak Team was friendly and helpful and made this a trip we won't forget. Our trip was in the middle of September. After a rough start, the weather was perfect for the trip. Went to inquire twice in 1 week about joining a kayaking tour, (the first time we decided to wait because of the weather). the second time we went to ask about our concerns for the rain/wind- both times the same girl with the same dissinterested attitude. Was exhausting to get any information and she made us feel very unwelcome. She didnt know about the weather and only said "you can book and if it get cancelled you get your money back" okay... But other boat tours were already cancelled so why not just be transparent?
It was my 1st time, 3hr tour with nature kayak and had a good experience with our tour. It was stable day, cant complain what Lord Jesus provides Bree, was approachable and with good vibes, appreciate it Saw dolphins , sea otter , eagles , blow off Humpback whales from a far. One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! North Island Kayak made an incredible environment that kept us safe, well fed, always learing, and relaxed. Bree was an incredible guide with her knowledge on the history of the area, Indigenous knowledge, and plant/animal knowledge. Matt prepared some of the best tasting meals I have ever had that Bree always had prepared for us before we got hungry! Would recommend to anyone and likely will be back again in the future!
