I brought my e39 base model BMW to NF imports for a check engine light. They diagnosed the issue as two vacuum hoses and an oil filter, charged me $851, and sent me on my way. 30 miles later, the check engine light came back. I returned to the shop, and instead of standing by their work, they ran another diagnostic and quoted me $2,000 for additional repairs. My BMW X5 was towed to the shop, vehicle stoped running and would not turn back on! Long story short, the diagnostic was replacement of 2 fuel pumps and the whole suspencion with a total of over $6k. When I told him I would pick it up and pay just the diagnostic he added he could get it drivable for $3500 still told him no. And charged me $350 for diagnostic.
