i felt since 2023 the services were extremely clinical, not peer-focussed, and with a cold and uncaring attitude that was not trauma informed.
If you live with trauma, have a sexual vulnerability, or have ever been diagnosed with a personality disorder, be careful - the stigma, dishonesty and failure to protect and care were evident, and no matter what you say or do - you will be blamed :) They were not keen to provide personalised or trauma-informed support, and kept changing up their information about what was expected of me. I still don't understand. I never used PARC as a detox unit. I was a resident because I needed mental health support. I never once said I was there to get sober. In fact I would detox myself for a week before entering. Never broke the using substances code while a resident. I'm now recovering from a breakdown. Not sure where I'm going or where I'll end up. Wishing you the best.
