Super little station open for visitors. Some locomotive movements, cafe coach with tasty pasties. Used bookshop goods van and gift shop. Plenty of parking. No entry fee.
Wonderful history and heritage with friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. Perfect for kids. Great value Cafe on site
Very well presented, well laid out, accessible, enterprising friendly and interesting volunteer railway. Good luck with the line extension and restoration of loco 76. Lovely cafe and extensive menu. Well done.
A brilliant, utterly charming slice of railway nostalgia! 🚂 The volunteers are a tremendously keen bunch, keeping the spirit of the old Somerset & Dorset line alive. The ride itself is currently a "pleasantly short potter" up the line and back, but the atmosphere, the museum, and the cracking views over the Dorset countryside (Hambledon Hill!) make it a genuinely lovely way to spend an hour. Go, have a brew in the carriage café, and support this fantastic project! A proper little gem!
