The zoo itself was great, but know this ahead of time. Pack your own lunch! We got 2 smash burgers with fries, 1 hot dog with chips, and 3 fountain drinks, and it was over $70! My burger was lukewarm. The fountain drinks were over $7 each!
Been to a few zoos in my life, none can compare to NC Zoo! The animals are well taken care of by a team of staff that are truly one of a kind. Everyone is eager to share their passion of nature and biology with any guest who is willing to listen. Every time I come, it is an absolute pleasure and highlight of any trip.
We went when they opened for the day and on a weekday to avoid crowds and to beat the heat. Admission pricing was reasonable in my opinion. Food and drinks a bit pricey though. Overall my 9-year-old and 6-year-old granddaughters had a fun time.
