Dr Simon scolded me throughout the appointment. My referral came from the University of Texas Physicians in Houston. Texas Medical Center in Houston provides what many say is the best medical care in the world. I certainly received the worst from Norman Simon. The 2nd appointment involved Simon shuffling his papers, again insulting the University of Texas Physicians for the first 6 minutes of an online appointment. Compassionate. Caring, knowledgeable descriptions Dr. Simon. Excellent Rheumatologist who explores all possible causes of the patient’s symptoms. Couldn’t ask for a better health care provider.
I have never had a provider interaction this bad before. Dr. Simon walked in the door with an attitude, completely ignoring my blood work and family history. He was condescending and rude about my referring physician. He lectured me about following the medical advice of my PCP prior to seeing him rather than focusing on next steps and a treatment plan during our appointment. Have been receiving treatment from Dr. Simon for over a year now for Lupus and working with his healthcare team has been a pleasure. He is easy to reach on MyChart, he is very consistent with following up on lab results and treatment plans. He explains his treatment plans to me in a way that is easy for me to follow and I feel confident in placing my health in his hands.
