We chose Nori Maki for a birthday celebration, but unfortunately the evening was disappointing. Both of us ordered the omakase menu expecting a refined dining experience, but it did not feel like fine dining and certainly did not feel worth the price. This was my second time visiting Nori Maki and the experience was just as great as the first time. Both times I was served by Chef Oscar, who was fantastic. The ingredients were incredibly fresh and every combination of ingredients and sauces was perfectly balanced. The timing of the hand rolls was also spot on — each roll was served at just the right moment, allowing us to fully enjoy every bite before the next one arrived. We absolutely loved the service crew, the front of house team was incredibly welcoming and truly 10/10. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. Unfortunately, our experience changed during the chef’s service. There was very little explanation of the dishes, and at times it was hard to hear or understand what was being said.
