Unfortunately, I’m here to echo the many disappointing reviews about NorCal Doulas, and I strongly caution anyone considering hiring Chelsey to think twice. I wish I had done this, it would have saved me a lot of stress. We hired Chelsey as our birth doula with high hopes. She presented herself well at first, but the moment we paid her fee, she essentially disappeared. Over the following months, communication was extremely lacking. I really wish I was leaving a five star review. I wanted to forget about this and move on, but it’s been five months since my delivery and I am still fairly upset about my experience. I met with Chelsea and her partner Rachel each once before my delivery. I shared repeatedly that I wasn’t worried about when it came time to push, but really wanted coaching on what to do when those first contractions hit. Chelsey was an angel and worth every penny. Not only leading up to my delivery but the day of especially! She helped my husband feel at ease during what was a very intense labor (he didn’t understand the role of a doula initially and he said he couldn’t of done it without her once my daughter was born) I swear she knew exactly how to support me. Eva helped our family for a couple months and she was nothing short of incredible. We were so grateful and lucky to have Eva help us during the first few months of little man's life. She brought so much calm to our life during the difficult transition (this was our first) and can't imagine having gone through the journey without her.
