Dr. Kern is an exceptional surgeon, and a kind, patient, and caring Dr. If not for Dr. Kern and the rest of the amazing staff at UVA our son who had a serious urinary disorder may not be the "normal functioning" healthy boy he is today. I do not understand the bad reviews at all. Dr Kern is amazing!!!! My son had congenital meatal stenosis and had to have his opening cut open (age 3yrs old). Her team and Dr Kern did an amazing job. I literally have no complaints. It was such a peaceful procedure for my son and he healed quickly. I would have my kids see her again.
This doctor is a bad person. For those who don't know, she voted in a medical school committee in favor of punitive action against a medical student because he challenged a speaker's presentation about "microaggressions," as the methodology used was basically anecdotal. She eventually helped to get the student expelled and effectively ruined his career, all because she was vindictive and wanted to appear politically correct. I’m not sure who these other people are who wrote a negative review, but this is unthinkable. Dr. Kern expressed her concern for the patient, (me), and she took time for me. She was not rushed trying to get the appointment over with. I am set on edge by these one star reviews of her. Most of them seem like a joke, but this is not the place to joke about others. Thank you Dr. Kern for caring about the patient in your appointments.
We were seen promptly upon checkin and she took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns and will be doing my sons surgery next month
