I gave Jonathan White $20,000+ as my down payment when my financing was approved to start my tiny house in February 2021. Shortly after I was ghosted. Sometime later I was contacted by an investor who was “paying $300,000 in Nook debt”. I was paid by this investor but had serious doubt that this company would pull though. By chance I ended up meeting someone else that was screwed over by Jonathan but had signed a none disclosure so I got no details. My suggestion is avoid Jonathan and his charm.
Jonathan and Nook has $133,00.00 of our hard earned money, and we have no home. We gave the initial deposit in June 2023, and additional funds in August 2023, with delivery expected October 1st of 2023, then completion was pushed back to November, then we were told our home was never started. To say we are angry is an understatement.
I am exercising my rights under the Consumer Review Fairness Act. Jonathan W. White of Spicewood, Texas, is the founder of NooknCranny, LLC d/b/a "Nook Tiny Homes". I WON the suite. I am to be awarded the money I paid them + lawyer fees + court fees + interest. Nook has notified my lawyers they will be filing for bankruptcy to avoid paying even though they have my home, estimated at trial to be worth $80 to $90 thousand and they said they had $37,000 left of my money not used in the home yet!
