Had a reservation for 7:45 and arrived on time. Stood at the host stand for almost 15 minutes before anyone recognized our presence. Finally got seated at 8:10. After 15 more minutes sitting at the table without a waitperson even giving us water or acknowledging us we chose to leave. We loved this place when they were in Old Town Alexandria, but we won’t be going back to their Pentagon City location. Total lack of customer service despite 3 waitstaff working a fairly small room. Obviously can’t rate the food.
Nice interior and quick service. We went at 8pm on a Saturday night and it wasn't super busy for a table for 2. We did the endless small plates. Menu had decent variety and lots of choices. It's very Asian fusion so I wouldn't expect super authentic traditional food. Noodle soups use small bowls (for the buffet) which is good. Fishbowl cocktails are great for 2 people (though I wish it was stronger). Price is typical for the DC area. Server was attentive and explained the menu well.
Happy hour for cocktails pleasantly surprised us to get 50% off the price! The beef and chicken dumplings were served in spicy sauces , so those who can’t stand spicy should be careful with the choices. Otherwise everything was decent!
Some dishes (fried rice, pea greens, noodle soups) were on point, with others lacking (leathery lamb skewer). Overall the prohibitive cost of alcohol will only hurt business at this establishment (opted for $9 iced tea vs. $28 sparkling); and the lackluster service and cuisine outcomes do not align with the high total cost of dining. Sadly, without remedy, I won’t rely on it lasting as one of our neighborhood options.
Helpful staff and well presented food. Recommend the pickled reddish.
