Went in to purchase refractories for a forge build. Described what I was making to the front office and 1 of the guys on the floor. Asked what they recommend I use. Purchased their recommendation (vesuvius super #3000* mix 26). Used 50lbs of the 55lb bucket. Realized it didnt flow, look or cure how I expected. Asked AI if it was the correct refractory. Discovered it is meant for joining bricks, not caking into a forge. Had to shovel and scrape 50lbs of semi cured cement back out and into the trash. Wasted 2 days and $80. Cal... read more
