We asked at the beginning of dinner if they could split the check by couples. They said yes. At the end of the meal they brought a single check and acted like we were fools for asking them to honor their commitment. Pretty shady.
The food is just really not speaking to me. The Rock Shrimp tasted like frozen fried shrimp. Yellowtail jalapeño tasted like something you would get from an all you can eat buffet. The new style sashimi (salmon) is just okay. Even the miso cod, the signature dish, is overpoweringly sweet and little fishy. Drinks are on the sweeter side. I’ve always enjoyed the food at Nobu — it’s consistently excellent. Our waitress Rachel was also amazing: attentive, kind, and made our experience feel special. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the manager, Ryan. He was, by far, the rudest and most unprofessional manager I’ve ever encountered in any restaurant. His attitude was disresectful and completely out of line for a place with Nobu’s reputation.
