I have had NLC for my homeowners insurance in my current residence for 5 years without ever filing a claim. I had them in my previous residence for 5-10 years and never filed a claim. My homeowners renewal came up this January and it was a 40% increase which I find outrageous. I can see 10-20% at best but 40% is not understandable. We Have Held A Contract With NLC Insurance Companies Homeowners For 33 Years On 3 Homes! In April Of 2024 Our Home Sustained Significant Wind Damage Causing Shingles To Be 100 Feet From The House On The Lawn. Not Entire Sections But 5x5, Inch Shingle Sections! I have spent 2 1/2 months dealing with a claim that was fairly straight forward. They have continuously given me the run around. U know if it is a good insurance company by their claim response. This is the worse after paying their premium for over 30 years.
Worst Service ever. I have never had to file a claim after paying homeowners to this company for over 20 years. Brian S****** and Debbie W***** will horrible to try to work with, never picking up the phone or even not returning texts. If I could rate this company lower than a 1, I would in a heartbeat. I purchased my first home on 10/19/2019 and was the victim of a horrendous break in on 11/18/2018 where the intruders stole my brand new heating system and flooded my basement in the process. Left of the integer scale. As a new homeowner with no claims or history, I was insured by this company for a mere two months. Received a letter via snail mail stating I had been dropped and had 30 days to find new insurance. The reason, my mutt dog who is 14 and dying of cancer. A determination was made based on a photo that he is on the "banned breed list". A mutt isn't a breed, dropping insurance based on one photo? Miffed.
