I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Lion Inn in State College, Pennsylvania. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how beautiful and well-maintained the property is. Great place to stay when visiting the University. Very clean and beautiful. Nice choice of restaurants inside.
The hotel has a great location and fine service. However: - the internet is very very slow (only 10 Mb/s); I asked the frontdesk, what's the speed of the non-free option, the frontdesk answered "don't know"; - although expedia says it provides "free bottled water", it is not true; the hotel gives you an empty glass bottle and encourages you to get filtered water from the water station. But the water station is not well maintained; the one at the 3rd floor shows red light for the filter life, which was not replaced at all for... read more
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Great location. If you go during off peak days or weekends, definitely worthwhile. Peak time is super expensive. Still great experience everytime I stayed while visiting my child at PSU!
I checked in late at night after a very long road trip from Alabama. When we got into the room, the air conditioning wasn't working. I told the staff on the desk, but I was told the doors had some kind of sensor to trigger the air conditioning and that it would be working shortly. Left for a couple hours as it was 80 degrees in the room and I can't exactly sleep like that, only to come back to it being 81 degrees. So I went back to the front desk, and get told the same thing.
