Place needs major organization and janitor services. Garbage overflowing. Giant stains on the carpet. Didn't see any sterilization happening before/after patients using/touching equipment. The staff was OK, the dr was the best part of the visit.

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with this office. My grandmother is a patient here and had cataract surgeries in each eye — one in May and the other in early June. She has multiple follow ups after her appointment because her eyes took a while to adjust. That said, it is now October, and she STILL does not have the correct eyeglass prescription. Dr. Kothari is a really great ophthalmologist. Unfortunately her receptionist team is lacking. I am a caregiver of a 93y/o patient of hers who was experiencing some very concerning eye problems and after multiple calls and voicemails never once did they ever answer or call back. Very disappointing that a business operates this way and seems to have no regard for the care or concerns of their patients.

I was lucky enough to get referred to Dr. Kothari at Eye Specialities in Castro Valley. Eye Specialties is well organized and staffed and cataract surgery happened quickly after my first visit. Dr. Kothari took the time to make sure I understood my options and answered my concerns. Pre- and post-op appointments were thorough and efficient. The surgery itself was flawless and painless and I healed well. It is a revelation to be able to see again and I will be grateful to Dr. Kothari for the rest of my life.
