I LOVE Nine Rubies. I lived in San Mateo for a almost a year and fell in love with this store. My daughter learned to knit and crochet here at one of their wonderful Friday afternoon classes - she was seven! I found beautiful yarn and patterns, and when I needed help, I found that, too. Beautiful store.
Very friendly helpful staff. Excellent selection. Sudha is awesome with picking yarns and colors. This is my favorite LYS with a great area to sit and chat with fellow knitters.

I went to the store for the first time yesterday and my friend and I were both very impressed with the friendly staff and felt very welcome.
This is the best LYS I've ever been to. The staff is really nice and helpful and all the resident knitters/crocheters are welcoming and great at helping pick colors. I've been coming here since December and I'm pretty sure I'll be sticking around here for a while because of the supportive, friendly atmosphere.
Sudha is a great teacher and a great person! Nine Rubies is absolutely the very best knitting store period.... I relearned to knit there in my sixties and I am so grateful. Thank you Nine Rubies!
