Food is good BUT service is terrible and ambiance is like a techno club – Prior to Nikko switching locations, it was my favorite sushi spot in Charlotte. But my last experience in "club nikko" was terrible and I will never go back. After waiting 1 hour to sit (we had reservations) we were told that they couldnt accomodate our party size b/c they had given our table away. The music is straight out of club...I would suggest go south to Sushi 101

BAD SUSHI BAD ATMOSPHERE – My girlfriend and I ate ate Nikko last night. We will never go back. At first we were seated in a row of tables that are on top of each other. You could have eaten off of your neighbors plate. The music was way too loud. I felt like i was in a club. Then out came the sushi. I think that leftover grocery store sushi tastes better than this stuff. Plus the prices are outrageous. Plus the owner has a giant portrait of herself outside the bathrooms. This was just ridiculous. One good thing was the serv... read more

amazing! – ! have been to many restaurants around the Charlotte area and I have to say that Nikko will always have my business! Everything about it is great! The only complaint I have is the music. The hostesses were nice, the tall one (sorry to say I don't know her name) will take great care of you. I was informed they did not have a cocktail server anymore but when I asked if I could get a snack while I waited she brought me to a bartender and got my order in for me! The service was wonderful! Joanna did her sake bombs wit... read more

What happened!? – My boyfriend and I used to go to Nikko's all of the time. They used to have the best sushi for your buck in Charlotte! And the waitresses and hostess were really nice. The old restaurant had a relaxed attitude, so we could go there in our jeans and t-shirts after a hard week and still get some really good food. However, since they moved to their new location, things have gone downhill rapidly. First of all, they raised the prices of everything on the menu. That wouldn't be off-putting in and of itself but w... read more

Used to love it... – Nikkos used to be a wonderful experience for my husband and I. We loved the space, the funny hostess who would chant 'sake-bomb!' to drunk investment bankers and still give the same service to a family with kids, the food was wonderful and consistent. However, since the opening night of the new location (we were there as loyal customers!) the service has been horrible (especially the hostesses, who have been rude and condescending without exception), the noise level even on weeknights has been terrible -... read more

New location and great atmosphere outweighted by horrible hostesses and condescending attitudes – It is true that the new Nikko?s location is much larger, ultra modern and offers a unique choice to the fairly limited Charlotte upscale restaurant scene. Unfortunately, where Nikko?s drops the ball is in the customer service/friendly department. Most notably at the hostesses stand up front. I have been to Nikko?s half a dozen times since the new opening, and I can honestly say that I have never seen anyone at the front stand sm... read more

Crazy...Fun......be prepared! – Nikko is just simply crazy! the restaurant interior design is NYC Chic....the servers are hot! and they are always just having fun, dancing around but still; getting there job done... the sushi is fantastic.....um Tuna Crunchy do try! Its more like a club then a restaurant but if you like that sort of thing, Nikko is the place to be...Joanna is super sweet....I go in there ALL the time, yes there is usually a ridicilous wait but its worth it. Everything about it is just beautiful, the interior... read more

Great Great Great – Greast is all I can think of to say. I remember when the place off of South Blvd was really small & always had a line....well, the new restaurant is about 4 times as big & STILL stays as busy. Good for them! They deserve it. One of my fav sushi restaurants in Charlotte by far!

Very fun place to go – Nikko is one of my favorite places to eat. The wait can get long but the bartenders are fast with the drinks and will even get you a few appetizers if you want them while you wait. The service could improve but for the amount of people in the place it isn't bad. Joanna makes your experience even more enjoyable with "sushi love" . I would recommend this to anyone as long as you don't mind the music loud. For awhile I couldn't even hear my friends across the table but thats usually only during sake bomb ... read more
