If your not into chic, then take yourself somewhere else – Went to Nikko again (one of dozens) this past Friday. Pulled up a seat at the bar with a couple of friends and ordered some good drinks. Bartender (forgot his name) from Jersey was good conversation without being invasive and poured some good drinks. The food is irrelevant - you just pray for they'll turn down the deafening music. – Nikko in South End used to have good sushi in a pleasant atmosphere. Those days are gone. Now they're in sleek noisy space - not my favorite, but I can handle it when it's reasonable. Not here. The owner apparently has trouble getting enough attention in the larger space, so she has to periodically turn the bar music up to a deafening level and run up and down the aisle in a cowboy hat banging a tambourine. Rude/Horrible Service-- BEWARE of MENU!! – I visited Nikko's for the first time and ordered Chicken Fried Rice. However when the bill came I saw that I was charged for a Teriyaki Chicken. I requested a manager. To my surprise, the manager told me: ?We have a ?You eat it, you buy it? policy here. You ate Teriyaki chicken, so we?ll need to charge you for it.? Nikkos ruined my night – I can't stand birthday parties at Nikkos. Wait, I can't stand Nikkos! What's not to love about a posh restaurant? EVERYTHING! It's over-priced, over-crowded, over-hyped, over the time limit I allow myself to wait for a table, and over-decorated. 5 star my a$$ – Shouldn't a "5-star" restaurant have 5-star service? Well, if we're talking about Nikkos, I guess not. I suppose it's ok to have a rude hostess, bartenders that give you a dirty wine glass (after waiting fifteen minutes for the bartender to find new bottle), a wait time of over an hour (after having a reservation), a non-existent server. Don't go to Nikko unless you want to get frustrated – I have been the new Nikko several times and have been more disappointed with each and every visit. I really like the idea of this place and at one time was hopeful that they could get thier act together. Just when I think the experience can't get any worse, I am shown a new low in customer service and arrogance. Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad! – I can't believe that there is a single good review of this place on this forum. Everything that the negative reviews have to say is 100% correct especially regarding the hostesses and terrible service. The sushi is average and waaaay overpriced for what you get. Don't even get me started on the owner. I recomend not going here unless you are into social masochism.
Atrocious service and sub par sushi – I am not at all a fan of the new Nikko restaurant location. At first it looks like a very upscale and inviting atmostphere to enjoy sush in the Queen city. Unfortunately this is all ruined as soon as the staff opens their mouth. The hostesses are rude and discourteous, the service is slow and the sushi is mediocre and not worth the inflated price. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER – The management of this place clearly doesn't care about their patrons. They decided to put on a 'fashion show' at 8:00 on a Wednesday and not allow our server to bring us food or drinks during the 30 minute show. The manager actually yelled at our waiter for trying to bring us the drinks we ordered, and yelled at me for trying to return from the bathroom during a 'tango demonstration.'
