Such a disappointment that this doctor is not thorough & is dismissive. My husband had a dark spot on his face and it was looked at by his doctor, which was Dr.Rao. Dr.Rao told my husband that he didn't see an issue or any concern and that if my husband disliked the look of it, he could see a dermatologist to have it removed but he didn't think it was any sort of cancer. This doctor is not thorough & is dismissive! I noticed a dark mark on my husbands face and suggested for him to get it looked at by his doctor, which was Dr.Rao. Dr. Rao was nice but was very dismissive of anything I had mentioned to him about my health. The worst was a misdiagnosed spot on my forehead that he simply deemed purely cosmetic and not cancerous. Months later, I was told by a different doctor that spot was indeed cancerous. I would’ve acted faster had he presented more of a concern which he did not and I would’ve respected him saying he was unsure versus giving me a false diagnosis.
I went with my husband to see Dr. Rao for the first time today at 8:30 AM. He is new with Kaiser. He was very pleased with the attention Dr. Rao gave him. He gave Dr. Rao his stamp of approval. Dr. Rao immediately made the referral for my husband to see the specialist and had his procedure scheduled. Thank you Dr. Rao for your immediate attention to my husband's (also mine) well-being. I absolutely do not recommend Dr Rao. He was my husband's PCP for approximately 5 years, and my husband would ask for referrals for an ENT over and over again. My husband even told him that he suspected he may have cancer. Dr Rao would ignore his concern continually pushback thus recieving the bare minimum in his "preventative care." It was a known fact my husband has had chronic acid reflux for many years, and all Dr Rao would do is tell him to take his antacids, and occasionally throw him an Rx of antibiotics.
