Membership application was denied twice. Once online and once in person because my identity could not be verified. I don't understand how verifying my identity is a problem when I'm right in front of you with documents but hey.... What can you do. Silver Spring location didn't seem to care much about helping resolve the identity issue. Seems like a decent bank to join though if you can.

WHAT A HEADACHE!!!! NIH FCU has given me the absolute worst customer service ever. All I wanted to do was open a savings account and it has been a nightmare. The problem started because I accidentally uploaded an old drivers' license with an outdated address into my profile. I was told that my ID could not be verified. I was further told that I would have to come into the branch to correct the issue. I have sent in my passport, utility bill, bank statements and pay stubs. I am leaving this bank for it's anti-customer, excessive scrutiny for "security purposes." Recently I attempted to make a payment to another financial institution with funds from my NIH account using my ATM card. My transaction was blocked by the bank as a precaution, which I appreciated and understood. I was sent a text and email verifying it was who was attempting to use the card. I indicated "yes" it was me. I got a text back saying it's okay to attempt the transaction again the ATM card was activated. I attempted the tra... read more
