I am sure those with short term NICU stays have a wonderful experience here. The nurses are great and so is the admin staff. My babies were here long term. If you're a parent facing a long road ahead and your child will need care for a while, they will likely tell you that they are eligible to be transferred to Mt Washington. My advice would be to listen to them. We did not because we felt so attached to the care team at GBMC. My son was admitted here for four days. It was a very difficult time for me. The doctors and nurses here were amazing. Even the NICU directors take out time from their schedules to talk to patient’s parents everyday. They are always approachable to everyone. My son’s condition improved because of them and so did mine on seeing him improve. The doctors and nurses here made sure I ate, bathe, slept, held my baby and breastfed him.
