Wanted to charge $398 for less than a pound of refrigerant, that’s not including the $89 service charge. R-22 averages at $90-$150, R-410A averages $50-$80. So even if we needed R-22 how would it have been $398? Oh and no prorated amount, must pay for full pound even if we didn’t need a pound. Paid the $89 and then no receipt sent via email or text link.

Showed up on time and did a good job. Had the part and fixed the problem. Charged my wife $358.00 to change a capacitor. Last one I bought this year was $30 at Ace Hardware. Even if it cost $100 that was $258 for less than a half hours work. I work out of town so only my wife was home, maybe the reason for the rediculous charge.

I drove all the way from Michigan talked to these guys for almost a month before everything was on paper and I was leaving Michigan coming to Missouri to work for these guys. I was coming down to help out family and be there for support through a tough time with a family member, but. I left Michigan at 3am Sunday morning and arrived in Missouri at 10-10:30pm if that says how the trip went. So I send Jaycen the "Director of operations"... read more

I had a similar experience with being ghosted. HVAC crapped out, they came wasted freon placing their gauges, stated it would be $600 to fill and an additional $900 to do a leak test. Prices are ridiculous, a leak test for $900, they are smoking the good stuff. I said I want an estimate on a new unit, they said if I go with them they wouldn't charge the $89 service call fee, then wasted time said I would hear from someone with an estimate but they have to charge the fee. They left the disconnect sitting open and off, and I'm... read more

the best around! Called for an appointment and was given one right away. The technician Trevor was fantastic. Professional, courteous, fast and informative. In the future if I have heat or air concerns I’ll definitely be calling Nicholson's again.
