Dr. Deep at Mayo Phoenix installed my cochlear implant on May 5, 2025. Outside of minor discomfort for the first couple of weeks, the procedure was flawless. He made an incision behind my ear (along the curve of where my ear meets my scalp) and it is practically invisible. I have made remarkable progress, going from 10% word recognition to 85% word recognition in the implanted ear. This past spring I became a proud recipient of a cochlear implant with Dr. Nicholas Deep, MD performing my surgery. Dr. Deep and his team were amazing! The results far exceeded my expectations. I found Dr. Deep in November 2020 after moving here from another state. I had unexplained moderate, bordering on severe, hearing loss in my left ear. He immediately properly diagnosed my condition. After two outpatient surgeries in 2021, I regained most of my hearing. Mayo Clinic and Dr. Deep are truly a blessing.
Dr. Deep and his team go above and beyond. They are not only knowledgeable and professional, but they truly care about their patients’ well-being. I highly recommend their practice!
I’m hearing so much better with my cochlear implant. I’m really thankful for how skilled and kind Dr. Deep was. Honestly the best experience I’ve had with any doctor.
