After a broken femur that was healing a long nylon stitch started to protruding from incision. Needless to say it was deemed "infected." This was due to stich not being addressed properly. Very painful. No pain meds, was instructed to seek meds from my primary (who had nothing to do with surgery.) Trying to get a reply from the office is impossible. My wife needs both hips replaced (bone on bone). Today she had the worst one done first at Maine Med. From start to finish an extremely positive experience. Everyone was kind and professional. Dr. Colacchio was incredible! He spoke to us before, shortly after, and at discharge. He was kind and caring and exceptional in everyway. Thank you to everyone!
I am a 58 year old woman who was bone on bone with my left hip and excruciating pain for years. I was so nervous about having a complete hip replacement but Dr. Colacchio and his staff were so wonderful - Dr. Colacchio called me a week before my surgery and then again the night before to reassure me about my surgery. My surgery went beautifully and I have experienced no pain since! If I ever needed another replacement I wouldn't hesitate or feel nervous - and I can't thank Dr. Colacchio enough - this surgery changed my life.
