Would not be my first choice. Too large. Therapies have way too many patients to handle and not able to make much progress. Could have done much better at home. Father was walking with walker after hip surgery at the hospital and after being transfered to NHC - all downhill. MD wouldn t listen or confer with PCP. Just don t like the warehousing of the elderly. Things need to change for all facilities - mainly MD practices. The RN s & CNA s do the best they can. The administrator is not friendly, and looks more to what the patients can do for her than what she can do for the patients. If you have a bad leader in charge, it trickles down and you have staff that do not want to do all that they should due to they have no one to count on for support. Until the administrator finally steps down, the facility will lack growth, kindness, and all that the patients need to be taken care of!
The social worker is not ever to be found getting no information or help from them at all one of the nurses I have caught in a lie and she dropped a pill on the floor and picked it up and put it in my moms mouth before I could stop her I just looked at her funny and said nothing that is two strikes for her one more and I will take her outside. the place is clean and techs are very helpful . My Mom is currently staying at NHC Health care for 20 days after having a stroke with a 2 week stay at the hospital. NHC is suppose to be caring for her nutritionally and providing PT 3x a week and assisting her in daily routines, but they are not doing what they are being paid for. The place does seem nicely decorated and are now doing more renovations. The bad thing is that the rooms are not private unless you pay \$30 a day extra. Too high priced. Will not allow the use of multiple coupons. Foxs pizza is a much better value for the money and will work with the customer to gain your business.
My father passed here a couple of months ago the care he recieved seemed to be really good.My issue here is i live out of state and arrived 2 days before he passed i was staying in a hotel near by and asked the nurses station and the hospice nurse to call me if any changes during the night.I was on my way that saturday morning to see him,i decided to call before i left the room about 9:00 am they put me through to a nurse that informed me that my father had passed at 3:00 that morning and he was already at the funeral home.I... read more
I worked in the Long Term Care business for several years as a social services director, and so I know what I am looking for in a facility for my mother. I called them prior to my mother being admitted. The place was immaculate and it didnt matter that some of the residents there had dementia they were clothed and hair was done and it seemed like a home to them. As for the residents who were oriented they had smiles and easy interactions with the other residents and staff. My mother was there for a skilled admission and if s... read more
