I did my internship for my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology at a behavioral modification academy. As a graduate student, you can't be picky with your choices so when I was accepted I took it. This was the summer, fall, and winter, of 2012 at Gerard Academy in Austin, MN. The levels of abuse at Gerard were extreme and undoubtedly led to permanent trauma . They are run like a cult. if i could give this less then 1 star i would!! never send your child here! All they do is use scare tactics by scaring you to do well. ( i very much dont agree with that.) anyways.... this staff named joe alcala threatened many clients. he said he would beat me and another client up. another thing i should clear up is that, yes, i do have self harm issues and other ptsd triggers. so general stay made me more traumatized. another staff named joe irlas trapped me in my room with another staff sitting at my door blocking the w... read more
