NexBank caused an absolutely horrible experience with us buying our first home. Despite everything requested being submitted timely, NexBank caused unnecessary delays, aggravation and stress due to the underwriter dropping the ball and asking for more information and more documents up until an hour before closing. We had to delay the closing. Luckily our loan officer and realtor were fighting for us but I would not recommend NexBank to anybody I know after the stress and anxiety they caused us. In what reality does this bank operate in where you can open a CD online but not close it? You can put money in through online platforms but to close an account requires a paper letter. I've never really experienced that before. I'm writing this as a warning to anyone else who might be interested in banking with them. I tried to get someone on the phone this morning to discuss this, but their phones have been down the entire day.
