I visited the Emergency Department at NYP Lower Manhattan today (March 4, 2026 around 4-5PM) experiencing a medical emergency: sharp lung pain when inhaling, heavy chest pressure, night sweats, and a persistent metallic/blood taste. I also reported a "balloon" feeling in my upper abdomen (liver area) and prior leg swelling. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD OR YOURSELF HERE UNLESS YOU ARE REALLYDESPERATE AND NO OTHER PLACE IS AVAILABLE. IF YOUR CHILD IS EXPERIENCING MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. They are tired understandable, but they are extremely unprofessional with a bit of a power trip if you seem to be in a vulnerable position. HALF STAR! If you can avoid NY Presbyterian, this specific location, please do.The whole atmosphere of this place is overwhelming. The bathrooms! Lord have mercy, the janitor needs a janitor, let’s put it that way.You have disgruntled patients cursing nurses and doctors out etc..You’ll find yourself waiting days to go upstairs into a room, because they’re at capacity, just laying there in the emergency room waiting for days.
