Been here for a few years now, very disapponted. Gave up a larger apartment up North. If you read their mission statement it all sounds very noble..pity it isn't true. Repairs take forever,3 years for a broken refrig to be replaced .if this is a place for Mom..someone has a warped sense of humor. This year we have an over abundance of rodents running all over place in broad daylight...the excuse is that it's cold out there.Same thing happened a few years ago, wasn't cold then . I moved back into this area for reasons that don't even matter anymore. The original building was a school house ,many changes since then. It's called Capitol improvements..not all good..doors or windows are blocked off or nailed close..sometimes just painted over like they never existed., our new executive director has had new flooring in our hallway. Been here since 2017. Has been a culture shock. Who would believe a place like this exist? I do have some wonderful neighbors but some should be either in jail or a mental ward. Violence against women is swept under the rug, along with the state & federal laws regarding smoking. Now we are over run with rodents. I can't say I've ever seen so many. I know God said be fruitful and multiple but wasn't He referring to humans? Setting more traps isnot a solution. Find the source.. and maybe find out why these critters like living... read more
Newton housing authority runs our building.. it's called the Hamilton Grove apartments.. for seniors and disabled. It used to be a school way back when.. built around 1915. State, Federal and social service folks live here. Ranging in age from 30 ish to 96? Weekend's are really fun . the kids are restless and some of us just want peace and quiet.There's times it feels like juvenile hall. Surrounding areas are beautiful in this quaint little village of Newton lower falls. After visiting a couple of other housing authorities and their properties ..all I can say I there's no place like home. With our new executive director Mr. Michael Lara in place. We look forward to new leadership here at Hamilton Grove and surrounding areas. Definitely a place for seniors and disabled.
