I found Dr wheeler and his staff extremely thorough. Mimi actually called the referring Dr to move my appointment a few days to insure the report from Dr Wheeler was there in advance. I also thought Dr Wheeler had great diagnostic skills. Whatever he may lack in a bedside manner he more than makes up with in competence .

I think the reason the two previous comments were so poor is that they had expectations that were not consonant with the kind of testing Dr. Wheeler does. It's scientific, exact, and by nature, slightly uncomfortable. I have had EMG testing done eight times before, and I can say Dr. Wheeler does his very best to make it as tolerable as possible. Terrible bedside manner. Flatly told me he had patients with REAL problems, my atypical neuralgia didn’t qualify as any kind of issue, never mind that it was driving me nuts. 20 + yrs later it still is, but I moved on from Wheeler as he made it clear he didn’t think me worthy of his time. I left feeling guilty and ashamed, but later was angry. Arrogant Newport Beach type. Find someone compassionate.

Dr. Wheeler is very academic. He did not communicate the procedure nor was he interest in talking to me regarding results. He does nerve conduction and EMG testing. These tests are painful and it’s very helpful for the doctor to talk you through as well as discuss what they find. This doctor was willing to communicate with other doctors but not the patient.
