We bought a 125-year-old house that still had knob and tube electrical and gas lines in the walls. The house needed significant work to upgrade to code, to remove all the knob and tube wiring, to increase the capacity of the house, and to move from wall-mounted lighting to ceiling lighting in most of the rooms.
