I tried to make a purchase this morning using a few coins, but the Hispanic attendant rudely informed me she could only accept up to 10 pennies. I had 15. I would understand if I’d brought in a large bag of pennies, but that wasn’t the case. It seemed like she judged me based on my appearance—probably assuming I was homeless because I looked a bit disheveled from my morning walk.
