interesting story, great tour
A must see! At least 500 years of people walking within the vault.
A small building with a lot of history. Interesting guided tour with a sample of port at the end.
Stopped by the visitors center on a Tuesday afternoon and the guy at the desk gave a rundown of the old wine cellar history that was way more interesting than I expected. The stone vaults themselves are cool and damp in that way that makes you believe the centuries of storage stories, and the lighting inside really sets the mood without feeling gimmicky.
