I was referred to Dr. Newman. During my appointment, Dr. Newman mentioned that his stethoscope would work over clothing. However, when it came time for him to place his stethoscope over the front of my shirt, he pulled my shirt away from my body and reached his hand down my shirt. I felt violated and do not recommend that female patients visit this office.
Dr. Newman has been my pulmonologist for 17 years, and has been terrific. I developed COPD when I got pneumonia 17 years ago, and he has gradually increased my lung capacity to the point that I have been able to climb Kilimanjaro (19,000') , as well as several 14,000' mountains (and I"m 70 years old). He is thorough, reasonable, always available, and explains things well. If you have serious lung issues, he's the doc you need.
