Sorry, Sonny's and Bono's in Gainesville (although your food is great), but Newberry's Backyard Bar Bq is the best in my opinion. And that's based on having lived here for the past decade. Yes, at times service can be slow, but well worth the wait. A truly great menu from which to select .
Great BBQ and More This place is really great. Here is what I like about it. Really cool non chain restaurant in a historic building. Friendly Staff. Great Menu at a reasonable price. My kid's meals are served on a frisbee. If anything is wrong they fix it which does not happen often. My wife will let me pig out and she can eat healthy. We really love the place.
Good BBQ! If you want to have good Bar B Que in a small town restaurant this is the place to go. They have a great selection and very reasonable prices for the portions you get!

Very slow service, mediocre food, not worth the drive – I have eaten here many times over the years and have never gotten anything but very slow service and have yet to eat anything of notability. I keep hoping it will change but it hasn't. The food is ok, nothing to rave about, it's run of the mill bar-b-q. The service whether you are dining in or getting take out has always been slow to unacceptable.
