Like fine wine NYC gets better with age! – I have been a member of the New Yorker Club for 15 years. Every time I eat there I am amazed at thier ability to raise the bar on fine dining in Salt Lake City. I enjoyed a 4 course meal. My knowledgeable server recommended that I start with sauteed Foie Gras paired with a glass of semillion wine. Next, a fried soft shell crab salad with a glass of an Austrailian sauvignon blanc, only to be out done by a mustard crusted rack of lamb in a rosemary cream sauce with a glass of cabernet... read more

A modern classic – The New Yorker is great!! The food has been wonderful everytime I've been there, and it's been alot. You can eat in the cafe if your in search of a terrific inexpensive dinner. The cafe menu had nothing over $20 and all the appetizers are half price before 6pm and after 9pm Monday thru Saturday and all night on Wednesdays. It's a great place to people watch and a wonderful atmosphere with all the marble, stained glass and extraordinary flower displays. The bartenders, Colter, Chris, Bobby and Daniel are al... read more

Average – When I'm spending $50 - $60 for a meal, I expect more than average, but that is just what we got at the New Yorker. The restaurant makes an attempt at elegance (beautiful stained glass), but comes up short with accoustic tiles for a ceiling. Service was average. Server was disinterested and not very attentive. Food was also average. Nothing was exceptional here. This restaurant seems a bit pretencious. Will not return, nor recommend.

Over-rated – Way over-rated. Poor service, and an unwelcoming attitude. Not worth the price or at any price.

jnmadzan – We're not sure what the negative reviewers are talking about. Maybe they are not used to high-end dining. At the New Yorker, you get exactly what you pay for: excellent food and competent service. Rarely do you find that in Utah.

Stuffy – The New Yorker is to stuffy and milk toast for me. I can not believe that La Caille is not one of your best in town. I can enjoy a fabulous meal and feel like I am in the country. If I want New York atmosphere I would go to New York. I get treated much better in New York City.

this IS the place – I don't understand what these reviewers are talking about! I am a new customer to the New Yorker and I think it is absolutley grand! I had lunch there today...it was very busy...the waiter was a bit slow to bring the beverages but the manager saw the problem and fixed it right away and even sent us home with a complimentary dessert. Problems are going to happen but it's how the issue is resolved that matters to me.

Overrated – The Gastronomy restaurants are so overrated. They are usually very loud and the food is slopped on the plate. There is no interest in presentation.
