Beats the hell out of Dominos – Okay so here's the deal-- judging from the other reviews written here you'll either love NYP or detest it. I think the category you fall under is dependent on how you like your pizza. NYP is for people who love greasy pizza, and I am one of these people. While I'm away from college I actually have cravings. Here's a typical slice: The larger than the paper plate they serve it on Thin pizza that's sloppy-the trick to eating it is to fold it over or tear it in half Crust is also thin, light and ... read more
A favorite for the homeless and the late night clubbers – I guess most are not really going there for good pizza, they're going because it's an after-hours place after the bars close on the weekends. However, other than that, there's no excuse- the service is poor, the pizza rubbery, and the eating area is dirty. Plus, it's always packed with homeless people, addicts, and sleazy night-club goers. Stay away!
Pizza by the slice tops the charts at this neighborhood take-out joint. – The Scene With only six booths and no public bathroom, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that this place is predominately for takeout. The phone rings off the hook with orders, and there's a fair amount of foot traffic as well. The dining area looks well used. Place your order at the counter underneath the cardboard menus that look like they've been there forever. Service is fast and friendly. The Food For $2 a slice, this is the best bu... read more
Best late-nite pizza – NYP is the best place to go if it's 2AM and you just want a slice to eat. It's not the best, but it's definetely not the worst. The chicken parmigiana sub is great, the sauce is okay and the cheese is always melty and delicious. I've been here countless times. Kids from Emerson College (across the street) frequent the place after going to parties on weekends. Also people from the clubs down the street, so be wary of drunk customers. The place recently went under new ownership, so it was renovated with ... read more
Simply Amazing. – NYP is my favorite place to get pizza in the city. Their service is fast and friendly, and for a very small price you can get a slice of pizza literally the size of your head. The pizza is delicious and NYP's hours are some of the best you are going to find in Boston. NYP puts large chains like dominoes and pizza hut to shame.
Absolutely horrible – I have always believed there is no such thing as a bad pizza. After visiting New York Pizza I no longer believe that. I ordered a sausage pizza from New York Pizza on Tremont and it was absolutely the worst pizza I have ever had. The cheapest grocery store frozen pizza would be far better than this. About a quarter of the cheese (I use this term loosely) had slid over the side of the crust and into the box. The rest of the pizza was a greasy mess of poor quality meat, runny, anemic-looking sauce and spa... read more
Cheapest and best pizza – This place is amazing. great pizza, great price what more do you want. Whoever doesn't like the pizza then they're picky and retarded. You get what you pay for.
When pizza and value is all that's important – I hate to read reviews of people complaining about $2 being too pricey for a slice of New York's. First, you can't get cardboard cheaper. Secondly and more importantly the pizza tastes great. The slices are huge! (I think they cut 4 slices per 16" pie) The crust is mildly crispy but still soft enough to fold (you're going to need to fold these slices because they're gigantic) I know a few people that order two slices but most will find 1 slice more than enough to be satisfied. one of the worst – I was actually recommended to this place, sadly. The pizza is most certainly not worth the $2, and I'm not picky. I received a burnt slice (the whole bottom and the crust) of very thin pizza (not a lot of cheese, sauce, or flavor.) I suppose the grease is filling though. Save your money.
