I have been a member for 10 years! I renewed my membership on June 10 at the 23 st location. Wanting to use that gym only for a lower yearly cost. 23 st is the nicest and looks the cleanest of all NYHR clubs. I was told 23 st is now the flagship of the brand which will give you access to all of the gyms. I paid $300 more to have access to all gyms. Last Thursday I received a very disturbing email. This gym/health club is centrally located (very easy to access by subways and buses), offers a large variety of classes (Yoga, HIIT, Zumba, Stretch, Sculpt, Aqua Fit, Kangoo, MELT, etc), in addition to an infrared sauna, swimming pool, steam room, dry sauna, Whirlpool, free weights, foam rollers, cardio machines w/individual screens (for TV viewing while you sweat), and a nice group of people to work out with. Staff is cool but just visit the 23rd street location once and you’ll feel utterly robbed based on the HUGE difference in facility and maintenance. The gym has food equipment but the facility is old and badly in need of updates and regular maintenance.
