I found out about 4 months ago that newrez had paid someone else's property taxes out of my escrow account I have been fighting them to restore my escrow account so that I do not have a shortage. They have done nothing but give me a run around, first blaming the tax office and then telling me, I own the other property and the payments were correct. After submitting a 100k dollar payment there was a small balance left on my account. 370$. I wasn't allowed to make the payment online like every other payment I've made. They gave me the run around about how to pay the last little bit, I finally got a straight answer and I was told I needed to wire the last small amount. My bank was confused why it was required. They have implemented that all calls go to a call center. Now you have to leave a message. Even when you get a call back, they cannot transfer to each other if you get a call from the wrong department. You have to call again, talk to the call center, and get another call back. So far, they have completely messed up our recast which means we owe thousands more than we should every month. They keep saying IT has to fix it and we have to continue to pay the high amount until it's fixed even though it was their mistake. Also, th... read more

DO NOT USE NEWREZ. I wish there is a ZERO STAR option! I applied recast of the mortgage on December 2nd 2025. The customer service charged me $150 process fee. I have been waiting on my monthly payment amount reflect to the new post-recast amount. Did not hear anything from Newrez. Called over 4 times and was told it is still being processed. This company is Horrible to deal with. Been struggling with them since beginning. Cant even get auto pay set up correctly. Highly discourage anyone from using them.
