I've heard so many great things about the Festival over the years. This year was my first experience, but it won't be my last! Amazing lineups from the Gospel Tent to the big stages at Acura & Congo. Mayor Mitch Landrieu called New Orleans "the soul of America": the Jazz & Heritage Festival is just one example of said soul.
Everyone should experience this event at least once in their lives. Quintessential New Orleans experience
Not enough New Orleans Heritage--too commercial and political. Musicians using their prominence to spout their own platforms who don't even live locally. Standing areas allow people with chairs to camp out; way too crowded especially if you don't arrive early enough to save yourself a spot. Evolution of this festival has grown so large that it has lost sight of it's beginnings. It's become a money monger.
