Met on June 1st, 2015 to discuss details on what renovations we wanted for our 440 sq ft studio apartment, met again on June 2nd to close and make the first payment (first third to initiate contract, second third after demolition complete, final third after job complete). It should have been a red flag because he wasn't writing down any of our requests, claimed it was because he had a good memory, and came up with a quote seemingly out of nowhere. In short, Chris A**** / New Looks Home Improvement stole $22,600 from me, wasted 7 months of my time, and left a massive liability in my building. I am currently suing him and paying a new company to try to fix the damage he created. Our experience was very similar to the other review. The work was supposed to start in March and be completed three thereafter. It actually started in late April and was never completed because we fired the guy in May. Workers were incompetent, showed up late or not at all, dripped water on downstairs neighbors ceiling. After we fired them, we learned that the wrong type of drain was installed in the shower, so that had to be removed, along with the shower pan. The floor also had to be re-leveled.
