Please explain this, I got on the waiting list over 4 years ago, I was way up in the thousands for a while, getting worse, not better, then one day it jumped up to 321, great, then it went down again to 421, now it's at 521. How does that work? I get calls now and then for apartment buildings to move into, I don't know what type of program they are calling about, 360 State contracted me about a Homebase program which is a subsidy but I can't get information for it anywhere and the 360 State person didn't have information eit... read more
I am in need of housing. The woman with whom I spoke in person seemed helpful. Unfortunately, their response to my immediate need was to provide me with a list of options whose contents were largely useless. For example, the list of options for immediate housing included Habitat for Humanity and Yale New Haven hospital. It seems they were more concerned with sending me away with something than with offering actual help. I genuinely pity people who are in need, can't rely on family, and have no help from the city.
My daughter has been actively in contact with her worker, Ebony Williams (so has the owner of the rental/apartment) since September 18th. She has moved from her apartment to comply with the landlord to be out before October 1st. All her things are now in storage and she is at our home waiting for Ebony to complete her part. My daughter has had other wonderful housing workers who get everything done in 2 -3 days/even call on Saturdays re: followup.
