My experience with hospital was great. The food was horrible. Doordash, wanted to charge extra, on top of the extra already added to my bill. Make arrangements for someone to bring you food .
We had a great experience at the Novant ER this week. I had to take my 3 week old in due to fever symptoms and they took us back immediately. Our nurse was compassionate, thorough and explained all the tests and procedures that had to take place. I am thankful for their care and helping my newborn get the assistance he needed. If you are taking a child to the ER you have to go to this location as they are the only ones with a children’s floor.
The lack of basic empathy and competence from the staff handling the phones at this emergency department is appalling. My caregiver had to be seen for an emergency, leaving me completely alone at home while recovering from major surgery. When I called hours later desperate for an update—because I was stranded without assistance and in severe post-op pain—the person answering the phones spoke to me with an aggressive, dismissive attitude. After a gross misdiagnosis and negligence at the Novant Hospital in Bolivia NC approximately 2 weeks ago leading to me where I am now I was scared to go back there. Stopped in Novant Urgent Care in Shallotte in far worse shape, they had me there for 10 minutes and wouldn't allow me to drive in my health and had me rushed to Novant in Wilmington since I was scared of Bolivia. I went to the ER for having chest and upper back pains. I thought I may be having a heart attack. I was stopped at the door by security and even after informing the security that I was having chest pains and shortness of breath, the security then proceeded to slowly take a 1 inch pocket knife off of my keychain and fill out a property bag form to retrieve my knife when I left later.
