NESHW has installed 2 systems for me. The most recent was installed 10 years ago and it is a flat panel drain back style system. The system has 3 flat panel collectors and a 120 gallon hot water heater. It more than keeps up with our hot water needs. The storage tank has enough capacity to provide us with solar heated hot water for several cloudy days in a row. I've been trying for 3 weeks to get my hot water heater serviced, but I have yet to receive any call backs. Every call goes straight to voicemail. Not even sure this place is still operating
The company service is responsive, and they do good work, but solar hot water didn't save me any money. I track my energy bills, and there was no change at all between what I used before installing solar hot water and after.

So far so good! I called about a quote and I didn't really have any additional roof space for a solar panel based water heater so they suggested I look into the SAHP product. This is basically a standard size tank water heater that uses a large evaporator panel that is mounted on the outside of your house. From what I understood of it in simple terms - It uses the ambient air very similar to mini-split technology to heat the water.
