I purchased a Gambrel, 4 bed, 3 full bath, Un finished 2nd floor, Delivered for $62 K. 1993. I put it atop above ground foundation, 1 car garage, shop, laundry, and 4 person hottub in basement. Excellent quality house, great crew, ZERO cost overrun. 2 years later I finished off evrything w wrap around deck, and was assesed $760K..
We bought our house from New England homes in 2004. We have had SO many plumbing problems over the years that whatever money we may have saved in building costs has more than made up for it in our plumbing bills. There have been leaks every year since we’ve been here. For example the first day we moved in I ran the tub in the master bath.
