3 years of knee pain and limping, 5 diff knee PTs, 3 diff doctors, 1 knee surgery and Dr. Smith had the wisdom to look at my knee. I was walking better the of the surgery. Various staff was a wack a mole chase for information. Overall, kind of a operation factory but I am walking again. FOLLOW UP: The doctor has a horrible bedside manner; terrible attention to patient needs and requests. He epitomizes the God complex. Wish I never went to him; anyone can do the routine operation that he performed.
Dr. Smith has performed two surgeries for me. The first was on my right knee in October, 2021. I won’t bore you with the details, but the condition of that knee was so awful that none of the four different orthopedic surgeons with whom I consulted would even consider it. Eric Smith was impatient, unhelpful, surly and caustic with me. When I asked him for a simple explanation of the proposed surgery, first he asked me if one asks a pilot how the plane is flown, or does one just trust the pilot to do his job. He then told me to watch YouTube videos. When I persisted to get a cursory understanding of the procedure, he launched into an extremely technical, esoteric, in-your-face explanation! Zero bedside manner, zero star rating, zero chance he will do any surgery on me!
Dr. Smith found that I had chromium and cobalt poisoning due to a defective metal hip. Not only did he save my life due to his diagnosis, but he replaced the old hip with revision surgery. It was a complete success. I have no more pain, and my blood cleared the cobalt and chromium. He knows his stuff!
