New Directions has a comprehensive program that allows young adults to pursue independence with supports and allows families to rest easy knowing their young adults are taken care of using a combination of professionals and mentors. It is a good way to disrupt patterns developed by continuing to live at home.
New Directions is a great program for young adults. They have an excellent staff and do their best to improve the lives of the students they serve.
I wish we had found NDFYA sooner. The way their program is structured, it completely focuses on what sessions each client needs. Additionally, interactions within those sessions are customized to fit the specific needs of each client. The staff at NDFYA were able to help my son do things I never thought I'd see; most importantly having friends and carrying on full conversations with people. Our son has found a place where he has made friends and is learning and using the skills he needs to function on a daily basis. This program has helped him gain confidence in himself and has given him the opportunity to grow at his own pace. The mentors and clinicians have been a monumental part of his success. Taylor's progress at New Directions has been exponentially greater than any of the other Programs we have tried. He is med compliant for the first time and is no longer isolating. I highly recommend New Directions here and have already done so in person many time. A good place with good people. The mentoring is a unique and very successful factor.
