Eight years ago I paid $1,000/year to NBU; now in the same house using the same amount of electricity, I pay $4,000/year. AND, they are going to increase their fees by 20%. We need another utility company in New Braunfels!

Turned on new water service yesterday and the customer service rep was more than happy to take my credit card for the deposit but is was far to much to ask for them to setup autopay at the same time. Why i wonder is it because NBU wants to mail you a paper bill first hoping they get the opportunity to charge you a late fee. I have had accounts with NBU for more than 20 years so I have seen it all before.
I called several times and put in several requests to have trash picked up as it was missed, and I blew over $40 on bulk item pickup. They alleged that they had pictures that nothing was put out even though it had been the night before. If I wanted to reschedule I'd have to pay about $30 for trash pickup on a different day. Absolutely ridiculous with the amount of money rates have gone up.
Today I had a great experience dealing with Jackie from New Braunfels Utilities. I’m moving into a home in New Braunfels tomorrow and would face a stiff penalty if the utilities aren’t switched to my name by then. In between shopping for furniture and appliances, getting household goods from two different locations, and other activities, I failed to take care of the utilities sooner.
