I feel like these corporations are so out-of-touch with what shoppers actually want in a store. Inventory was really disappointing. The staff was nice and friendly, so my review is not about them. The store only had maybe 15 pairs of shoes on display and none of them were what I was looking for. It was also an awkward shopping experience. The store layout makes it so I didn’t want to spend any time in there. And you can’t try anything on without asking an employee for help. Won’t be back.
When I walked in I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They were honestly the only redeemable part of the visit. I was asked if I knew what I needed or if I was just looking around, and when I told them I just wanted to check out their stock I was left in peace (exactly what I wanted). The store is super small and laid out in such a way that much of the floor space is empty. Staff is good. Inventory sucks. You would expect a corporate store to have all or even most of their products. Unfortunately they have less New Balance shoes than some shoe stores. I would rather try on shoes / sneakers than try to order online but that is not the case with NB. No tennis or pickleball shoes. What is the point of having a corporate store? They should learn from Apple.
Giving this three stars for the sake of the employee, as New Balance's policies aren't his fault. I'm disappointed in New Balance and will not be purchasing anything else from them, as their return policies are poor and apparently left up to staff interpretation, and their product is faulty. I came to return two pairs of shoes I purchased at the Brandywine location. I was told at Brandywine that the shoes have a 60 day return period for any reason.
